microwave
"One idea, one shot, one surprise. So simple yet so rich. A gem."

microwave is a video installation where different objects were filmed while they were being rotated in a microwave. I put objects like a dollar note, an American Express card, as well as a Barbie doll in the oven, chosen for their combustible as well as their iconic qualities. I wanted to explore the idea of "looking", how one sometimes is riveted to watching something happen in real time, I was also curious as to new meanings that could be extracted by putting icons in these unexpected surroundings.
