Moving can be a heart-wrenching experience, especially if you have lived and been laid to rest under the same ground for the past eighty years. This short film is about moving—the never-ending journey we make in life, and even in death. No one stays in one place for long. Follow the Tan family as they make the journey to their new home, for better or for worse.

Moving House (搬家) (1996) is Tan Pin Pin's first film. It documents the exhumation and reinterment of her great-grandparents, who were buried at the Lorong Panchar Cemetery off Sixth Avenue for 80 years. Featuring interviews with her relatives about the event, this personal work formed the basis for the 2001 version, which was later commissioned by Discovery Networks Asia.
